The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a fantastic option if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop that's mid-range. It's a great mopping capability, but it lacks certain of the more advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
During tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats out of medium-pile carpets. It doesn't employ LIDAR however, as cheaper models do, to locate your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It offers impressive cleaning power and numerous features, including a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. The robot will learn your cleaning habits, and suggest automatic schedules to give you an effortless cleaning experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is set up you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button. You can opt for an overall clean that emphasizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as rice and cereal or go for two thorough maps of your space to ensure that your home is properly arranged.
This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and clean large objects up. It doesn't lose its suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It's not the best time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot promises it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard, but we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also has superior filtration, which prevents tiny particles and allergens from circulating within your home. It's a nice claim but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of a combination of sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles like staircases and other barriers, and to clean up your whole home in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and establish virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robot that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vac settings are just as effective as those of more expensive models, and its mopping system is superior, as its spinning pads do a better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibration pad.
The only downside is that it does not have an additional rubber brush for more thorough cleaning, but it's an acceptable cost to pay for if you are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its rivals, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.
In terms of the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than the high-powered settings, produce minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch TV without being distracted. If it comes into contact with an object, such as a wall or piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it before moving on.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong, such as low water levels or a canceled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.
You can also combine or create actual rooms to personalize the way Q Revo treats your home. This feature is helpful if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, removing dirt from carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction to clean carpet and hard floors, plus a rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also has an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them fresh and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor system that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement to the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its sleeker, modern design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. The robot is still large--it has a height of more than two feet height and depth and weighs almost four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 because it get more info charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. And it has a larger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris, making it easier to empty when needed.
Finally, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and voice assistant that operates offline, allowing you to manage it even when not at home. It also has more mopping modes and an intelligent routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean certain rooms or areas of your house instead of simply following a predetermined path.
The Omni Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also excellent, and it increases suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as anything we've seen in an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and robot vacuum that comes with a range of features that you don't often see on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect different types of flooring and is among the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. But while these functions are great, they also put the L10s Ultra in the category of luxury which could make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving around the house. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it to its base station. The center of the control panel has the circular menu which lets you choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons will allow you to access the settings in the app, where you can customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to help you map out your home. This produces a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop with ease without getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hard floors, and taking out all but stubborn juice stains. The mops also work well and remove 98.4 percent of debris from our tile, carpet and wood tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
